Confirmed : Golden Eaglets-eligible forward signs scholarship deal with Watford
Published: July 20, 2022
Championship club Watford announced their new intake of academy scholars on Tuesday, July 19, with a promising teenager of Nigerian descent part of the group.
Prince Sikiru has put pen to paper on a two-year scholarship deal with the Vicarage Road Stadium outfit.
And for the next two seasons, he will spend time on a development programme that will see him gain nationally recognised qualifications through an extensive and important football and education programme.
A versatile player who can be deployed as a midfielder and striker, Sikiru will be aiming to sign a professional contract at the Hornets on or before the expiration of his scholarship deal.
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that another of his goals is to play international football for the Golden Eaglets.
Sikiru joined Watford on February 7, 2017, rising through the ranks before featuring for the U18s.
The 2006-born attack-minded player links up with former Manchester United schoolboy Hamzat Balogun and Tobi Adeyemo at Watford U18s on a permanent basis ahead of the new season.
