WAFCON 2022 Nigeria v Zambia : Match preview, what to expect, kickoff time
Published: July 21, 2022Currently, two matches remain in the African Women Cup Of Nations competition, and the third-place match between the Nigerian Super Falcons and the Zambian Copper Queens is one of them.
The Super Falcons will lock horns with the Copper Queens to decide the third place winner of the WAFCON tomorrow Friday, July 22nd 2022 at the Stade Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco.
This will be the Super Falcons' final game of their failed title defence after Randy Waldrum's women lost their semifinal game to hosts Morocco in a penalty shootout despite losing two players to red cards in the second half.
Allnigeriasoccer.com has all the information you need ahead of the crunch third place match between the two countries.
Match preview
Nigeria's Super Falcons were no doubt disappointed with the outcome of the Morocco game having put in a heroic performance despite going down to nine players.
A win to get them feeling good again whilst taking an honour back home would be great and will no doubt be their aim.
A win over the Copper Queens would gift Nigeria the third place award. However, it goes both ways as the same can be said for Zambia.
What to expect
Despite the disappointment of losing out on La Decima, the Super Falcons are expected to give their all on the pitch as they have always done.
Although their best was not enough against Morocco, it may just be enough to clinch third place.
Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum has shown a lot of potential in his management system, however, the team and fans need to see more.
Contrary to belief, there is still something to play for in this tournament despite both teams already qualifying for the World Cup automatically. So, attacking and passionate football should be expected.
Kickoff Time/Venue
The African Women Cup Of Nations third-place match between the Super Falcons of Nigeria and Copper Queens of Zambia will kick off at exactly 2100 hours Nigerian time at the Stade Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, Morocco.
