Ajax Amsterdam centre-back Bassey reaches a career high market value of N7.71 billion
Published: September 14, 2022
Ajax Amsterdam central defender Calvin Bassey has reached a career high market value, a day after going the distance for the Dutch champions in a 2-1 loss to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League.
Bassey has seen his stock rise after shining for club and country over the last three months.
The Nigeria international is now valued at 18 million euros (approximately N7.71 billion in Nigerian currency) following the latest update by Transfermarkt on Wednesday, September 14.
His new valuation is five million euros less than the guaranteed fee Ajax Amsterdam paid Glasgow Rangers for his services in July 2022.
Bassey's market value has increased from the ten million euros he was valued at on June 27, 2022 to his current 18 million euros value.
The 22-year-old is the fifth most expensive player in the Ajax squad, eighth in the Dutch Eredivisie, and sixth when it comes to Nigerian players worldwide.
Transfer market values are determined using variables such as future prospects, age, level and status of the league, performance potential, experience level and injury susceptibility.
