Published: September 17, 2022
Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has named 25 players for the September 27 international friendly against former African champions, Algeria in Oran reports All Nigeria Soccer.
An analysis of the roster revealed that three goalkeepers, eight defenders, four midfielders and ten strikers have received call-ups for the friendly.
Israel based Adebayo Adeleye is one of the three goalkeepers called up for the game which includes Maduka Okoye who is back in the fold after an injury layoff and Francis Uzoho.
Hale End Academy product Alex Iwobi, Chelsea product Ola Aina and former Tottenham Hotspur youth teamer William Troost-Ekong have all been summoned for the friendly against the North African giants.
In midfield, Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi will have the chance to work with Peseiro for the first time after his injury-enforced absence.
Frank Onyeka retains his spot in the team while Club Brugge's new boy Raphael Onyedika gets his maiden invite to the Super Eagles.
With the injuries to Victor Osimhen and Umar Sadiq effectively ruling them out of the equation, Peseiro has called up Cyriel Dessers and Terem Moffi.
Other forwards invited for the game include Ademola Lookman, Henry Onyekuru, Kelechi Iheanacho, Moses Simon and Chidera Ejuke.
