Anglo-Nigerian striker comments on reports he could return to Chelsea for a fee of N34b
Published: October 07, 2022AS Roma's Anglo-Nigerian striker Tammy Abraham has revealed that he is focused on playing for the Serie A side amid reports that he could head back to former English Premier League club Chelsea.
The England international who was eligible to play for Nigeria, the country of his father before making his completive debut for the Three Lions had a promising stint at Chelsea before he made the move to Roma.
Chelsea’s buy-back clause will be valid from July 2023 for €80m (approximately N34 billion in Nigerian currency) but Abraham according to a report on the Twitter page of Italian top journalist, Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Abraham who is almost guaranteed a place in England's World Cup squad for Qatar is not about to make a return to Stamford Bridge as of now.
“I’m happy with Roma and I’m focused on my job here. The team is good.
"The manager is good. The city, the fans, I'm happy. Only God knows the future, " the journalist who is reputed for a near perfect transfer news during transfer windows quoted the striker as saying.
Abraham scored six goals at Chelsea in the 2020/2021 season in 22 Premier League matches.
This season under the coaching guide of Jose Mourinho, the striker has scored twice in eight Serie A matches.
Abraham was also instrumental as Roma won the UEFA Conference League beating a Feyennord side that paraded Nigeria international Cyriel Dessers in the final of the third tier European club competition.
