Anglo-Nigerian teenager trains with Man Utd first team on the eve of UEL clash v Omonia
Published: October 12, 2022
Anglo-Nigerian starlet Shola Shoretire is seemingly in contention to be included in Manchester United's matchday squad for the UEFA Europa League clash against Francis Uzoho's Omonia Nicosia at Old Trafford.
According to Manchester Evening News, the England U19 international was invited to train with the first team on Wednesday, a day before the Red Devils face off with their Cypriot opponents on matchday four of the Europa League.
Manager Erik ten Hag monitored the 18-year-old Shoretire at close quarters during the training session held at the Aon Training Complex in Manchester.
Other teenagers spotted in the training session include Zidane Iqbal (19) and Alejandro Garnacho (18).
Shoretire also trained with the first team players on Monday, October 10, as he aims to catch the eye of the Dutch football tactician.
The attacking midfielder cum winger has yet to receive a first team call up since the appointment of Ten Hag as coach in the summer.
Manchester United are sweating over the fitness of Anthony Martial ahead of tomorrow's game after the striker suffered a hip injury in the pre-match warm up at Goodison Park on Sunday.
