Barcelona draw up list of midfielder targets including Ndidi, Chelsea and Liverpool stars, 9 others
Published: October 28, 2022Spanish sports daily Sport, via transfer market website Fichajes claims Barcelona have drawn up a list of midfielder targets ahead of the January transfer window.
After failing to qualify for the knockout rounds of the UEFA Champions League for the second season in a row, Barcelona are hoping to sign a right-back and a defensive midfielder to bolster the squad.
Work is already underway with Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi among the thirteen midfielders being considered.
Rodri Hernández (Manchester City), Declan Rice (West Ham United), James Ward-Prowse (Southampton), Fabinho (Liverpool), N'Golo Kante (Chelsea), Jorginho (Chelsea) and Rubén Neves (Wolverhampton Wanderers) are among the other Premier League players being discussed by the Barcelona hierarchy.
The Blaugranes also have eyes on Dani Parejo (Villarreal), Martín Zubimendi (Real Sociedad), Guido Rodríguez (Real Betis), Leon Goretzka (Bayern Munich) and Sandro Tonali (AC Milan) to reinforce their engine room.
Although Ndidi s under contract until June 30, 2024, the Foxes are used to selling their best players in recent seasons as it happened with Kante, Riyad Mahrez, Wesley Fofana, Kasper Schmeichel, Ben Chilwell and Harry Maguire.
The Nigeria international has netted eleven goals in 215 all-competition appearances for Leicester City.
