'Showing the quality I knew he had' - Fulham coach lauds Super Eagles star ahead of Everton clash
Published: October 28, 2022Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi has been described as dynamic by Fulham head coach Marco Silva.
Iwobi received accolades from Silva ahead of Everton's Premier League clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The Portuguese football tactician was the manager of the Toffees when Iwobi arrived at Goodison Park from the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2019.
Iwobi's performances under Silva were a mixed bag, with the Hale End Academy product scoring two goals and assisting one in 16 appearances before the Portuguese was fired after a 5-2 loss to Liverpool in the derby.
Having struggled in his first two and a half years at Everton, the 26-year-old got his groove back following the appointment of Frank Lampard in January 2022, becoming one of the fan favorites at the Merseyside club.
"Iwobi is doing well and showing the quality I knew he had," Silva was quoted as saying by West London Sport.
"He can play out wide or in the middle like he is now and is a dynamic player.
"It is clear to me that he is helping Everton a lot on and off the ball and the players around him are giving him the support to play with a bit more freedom as well."
Iwobi has six goal contributions (1 goal, 5 assists) in twelve Premier League games this season.
