Two Nigerian youngsters promoted to Arsenal first team training pre-Nottingham Forest
Published: October 29, 2022
Two Nigeria-eligible youngsters trained with Arsenal first team in their final workout ahead of tomorrow's English Premier League meeting with Taiwo Awoniyi's Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium in London.
Talented development squad players Zach Awe and Nathan Butler-Oyedeji were spotted working out with the Gunners first team stars at London Colney on Saturday afternoon.
The north London club are aiming to return to winning ways following a 1-1 draw with Southampton in the Premier League and a 2-0 loss to PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League.
Awe and Butler-Oyedeji are two of the exciting players in the ranks of Arsenal's U21 squad and are probably knocking on the door for their first senior call-up in the 2022-2023 season.
A central defender by trade, Awe's first squad involvement for the senior team came in the 2021-2022 season in a Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers but he did not come off the bench.
Butler-Oyedeji has shown his credentials in front of goal with strikes in the Premier League 2, Papa Johns Trophy and Premier League International Cup.
Awoniyi and his international teammate Emmanuel Dennis are seemingly in contention to be named in Nottingham Forest's traveling squad as they were pictured training with the Reds two days ago.
