Arsenal goalkeeper, recently called up to Flying Eagles, named Chelmsford City's POTM
Published: January 11, 2023
Ovie Ejeheri is celebrating again after he was named Chelmsford City's Player of the Month for December 2022.
The Hale End Academy product has won the award fresh from receiving an invitation to join the Nigeria U20 national team at their training camp ahead of next month's Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
Ejeheri returned to parent club Arsenal this week following the expiration of his loan deal at the Clarets, whom he joined on a short-term loan deal last July.
And he topped off a fantastic loan spell in the best possible way by retaining Chelmsford City's Player of the Month, having also won the award for November 2022.
The 19-year-old appeared in four matches for the Clarets in the National League South in December, keeping two clean sheets against Dartford and Braintree Town while conceding five goals.
Ejeheri is among the foreign-based goalkeepers invited to the Flying Eagles squad to provide competition for Water FC glovesman Nathaniel Nwosu.
Last season, manager Mikel Arteta picked him as the 21st or extra player in Arsenal's Premier League match against Watford at the Emirates Stadium.
