Chukwuemeka rubs shoulders with Chelsea's newest recruit pre-Fulham
Published: January 12, 2023
England U20 international of Nigerian descent Carney Chukwuemeka is in contention to be included in Chelsea's matchday squad for the Premier League London derby against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Thursday night.
The gallery of photos from the first team training session published by Chelsea on their official website confirm that Chukwuemeka was involved in the final workout before the match with the Cottagers.
The Anglo-Nigerian rubbed shoulders with Chelsea's brand new signing Joao Felix, who completed his move to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday morning.
The Portugal dazzler extended his contract with parent club Atletico Madrid before he was farmed out on loan to Chelsea, with no buy option discussed between the two clubs.
Subject to approval from the Premier League, Felix could make his competitive debut for the Blues against Fulham.
Against Fulham, Chukwuemeka is aiming to play three consecutive Premier League matches for the first time in his Chelsea career, and will also be hoping to make his full debut since his transfer from Aston Villa last August.
Graham Potter's side sit tenth in the table with 25 points from seventeen games, ten points less than Manchester United who occupy the last Champions League spot.
