FA Youth Cup : Lively Spanish-Nigerian striker Musa comes close to scoring as Man Utd crash out

Holders Manchester United were dumped out of the prestigious FA Youth Cup in the fourth round after a 1-0 defeat suffered at the hands of Stoke City on Wednesday, January 11 at the Bet365 Stadium.
Fresh from starring at the Rewe Junior Cup, Spanish-born striker of Nigerian descent Victor Musa started from the off for the Red Devils and he was joined in the the starting lineup by 2022 FA Youth Cup-winning midfielder Maximillian Oyedele.
A cagey first half ended goalless but Musa had the best chance to break the deadlock for United, only to see his close-range header saved by the Potters goalkeeper in the 38th minute.
And in first half stoppage time, the Spanish-Nigerian starlet also came close to opening the scoring again but Simkin denied him from point-blank range.
Five minutes into the second half, the lively Musa was presented with another opportunity to score his first competitive goal for Manchester United U18s but he headed narrowly wide after a cross from Nolan.
Manchester United were made to rue their missed chances when Josh Bickerton smashed home a free-kick via a deflection to score what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 58th minute,
Oyedele was close to bagging an equalizer but his long-range effort was brilliantly saved by the impressive Stoke City goalkeeper.
