Super Eagles striker on the radar of Newcastle, Everton, Aston Villa, 3 other EPL clubs
Published: January 14, 2023
Super Eagles star Terem Moffi is reportedly being tracked by several Premier League clubs with a view to a future transfer.
According to Football Insider, Newcastle United scouts ran the rule over the Lorient striker during his side's 2-2 draw with Monaco in a French Ligue 1 match held at the Stade du Moustoir on Wednesday night.
The Magpies scouts must have sent back glowing reports on the 23-year-old having watched him score a brilliant counter attack goal for the hosts.
Newcastle United are set to face competition from their Premier League rivals if they firm up their interest in Moffi, who is also on the radar of Everton, Aston Villa, West Ham, Leicester City and Bournemouth.
Lorient don't want to lose their top scorer in the January transfer window because they are pushing for a European spot and with that in mind a bid from Southampton was recently rejected.
Moffi has been in red hot form in the Ligue 1 this season, scoring eleven goals in seventeen appearances, and only Paris Saint Germain superstar Kylian Mbappé has done better in terms of goalscoring.
The former KV Kortrijk and FK Riteriai man is under contract with Lorient until June 30, 2024.
