Napoli chief discusses the future of Osimhen amid Chelsea, Man Utd, PSG links
Published: March 16, 2023
Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli has provided an update on the future of Victor Osimhen amid speculation linking the striker with a departure from the Diego Maradona Stadium in the summer.
The Nigeria international has been in fantastic form this season with his brace in Napoli's 3-0 rout of Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League on Wednesday night taking his tally for the season to 23 goals in all competitions.
Manchester United and Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move for Osimhen, while French moneybags Paris Saint-Germain want to bring the former Lille man to the Ligue 1.
Signed for a club record fee of 70 million euros in 2020, Osimhen will enter the last two years of his contract with Napoli on July 1.
Speaking before kickoff of Napoli versus Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday evening, Giuntoli clarified that negotiations over the renewal of Osimhen's contract with the Parthenopeans have not started.
In quotes relayed by Area Napoli. Giuntoli said on Amazon Prime : "Are we working on Kvaratskhelia, Osimhen and Kim? Right now they are guys who have long-term contracts.
"We'll look into it further. probably this summer, we gave priority to those with short deadlines".
Napoli have slapped a hefty price tag in the region of 120 million euros on Osimhen as they attempt to keep him out of the clutches of the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG.
