Arsenal could sell England U21 star of Nigerian descent to provide funds for summer transfers

England U21 international of Nigerian descent, Folarin Balogun continues to be linked with a departure from the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.

The Hale End Academy graduate was loaned out to Stade de Reims last August without an option to buy included in the deal.

No adaptation period was needed for Balogun, who has mustered eighteen goals in thirty one appearances in the Ligue 1, a haul bettered only by Kylian Mbappé (Paris Saint Germain), Jonathan David (Lille) and Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon).

According to the online edition of The Daily Mail, Balogun, who has impressed for Reims, could also be allowed to depart Arsenal in the summer as manager Mikel Arteta looks to raise funds for summer incomings.

The Anglo-American-Nigerian center forward has made it clear he wants to playing on a regular basis should he return to Arsenal, but it's a big ask with Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and Leandro Trossard ahead of him in the pecking order of strikers.

RB Leipzig, AC Milan and Marseille are among the clubs monitoring the situation of Balogun, who is valued in the region of 40 million euros by Arsenal.

The 21-year-old has approximately two years left on his contract with the north London club.
