Official: Huddersfield Town sign versatile central defender from Arsenal
Published: July 05, 2023With a statement on their official website, Championship outfit Huddersfield Town have informed that four new scholars have been welcomed to the U19 side.
One goalkeeper, a central defender and two fullbacks have been added to the Terriers U19 ranks.
Among the four new scholars is versatile Hale End Academy product Anthony Gregory, who has been signed from Premier League side Arsenal.
The 16-year-old Gregory has departed the Gunners after six years of service having joined the north London club at the age of 10.
He has been described as a right-footed centre-back who 'defends well and is comfortable on the ball, allowing him to play in either side of defence, at right-back or as a holding midfielder'.
Nigerian striker Hazeem Bakre was Huddersfield Town U19s top scorer last season with sixteen goals to his name.
Spanish-Nigerian-Equatorial Guinean defender Charles Ondo was retained by Huddersfield Town for the 2023-2024 season, while youth team players of Nigerian descent Tyree Sanusi and Joseph Johnson have been released following the conclusion of their contracts.
