Snapped: Italian-Nigerian reports for pre-season training a year after joining Tottenham
Published: July 13, 2023
Almost a year after his celebrated move to Tottenham Hotspur, Italy U21 international of Nigerian descent Destiny Udogie has reported for pre-season training at the north London club.
The talented defender joined Spurs in August 2022 but did not feature for the Londoners as he was immediately loaned back to Udinese to continue his development.
Through their official Twitter account, The Lilywhites confirmed on Wednesday that the Italian-Nigerian met with newly appointed Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou.
The 20-year-old was in impressive form for Udinese in the Serie A last season, registering three goals and four assists in 33 appearances.
Udogie is held in high esteem by Tottenham Hotspur due to his quality and will have the chance to impress the club's new manager during the pre-season.
He will have to contend with Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon and Ben Davies for the position of left fullback and wingback in the forthcoming season.
Former Hellas Verona youth teamer Udogie has a contract with Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the 2026-2027 season.
