40th SuperCupNI: Musa among three Nigeria-eligible players in Man Utd squads
Published: July 24, 2023Fresh from signing scholarship forms with Manchester United, Spanish-born Nigerian striker Victor Musa has been included in the Red Devils squad for the 40th edition of the SuperCupNI, formerly known as Milk Cup.
This is the third consecutive year he will be traveling with the Manchester United youth team to Northern Ireland, having participated in the 2021 and 2022 editions of the prestigious youth tournament.
Musa impressed in his final season as a schoolboy, mustering 6 goals in nineteen appearances in the U18 Premier League and also made his FA Youth Cup debut.
Joining Musa on the Manchester United roster for the Boys Elite Section of the SuperCupNI is England youth international of Nigerian descent Habeeb Ogunneye,
Ogunneye, 17, signed his first professional contract with the Red Devils last November, and appeared in eighteen matches in the U18 Premier League last term.
United have been drawn to face Liverpool, Hertha Berlin and Valencia in the Boys Elite Section.
Prolific striker Majid Balogun has been included in Manchester United's squad for the Boys Premier Section.
He joined Manchester United in January 2022, with the Red Devils beating a plethora of clubs to his signature.
In the Boys Premier Section, Manchester United face Dundalk SB at Scroggy Road on Monday afternoon, followed by games against Ichifuna and Fermanagh.
