Transfer guru confirms Chelsea really like 2021 Super Eagles invitee but no bid yet

France U21 international of Nigerian descent Michael Olise is attracting interest from top Premier League clubs this summer.

Olise has not participated in group training sessions with Crystal Palace since the start of pre-season preparations as he is still recovering from an injury he sustained during the 2023 European U21 Championship.

Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Chelsea 'really like' the 2021 Super Eagles invitee but stressed that the Londoners have not firmed up their interest by making an official bid to Crystal Palace.

The Blues are waiting to discover how long Olise will be out of action before they decide whether or not to make a move for the winger.

In quotes relayed by Chelsea Chronicle, Romano said on Here We Go Podcast:"Chelsea really likes Michael Olise; this is true.

"There is no bid, and Chelsea know there is a £35 million release clause, but they are waiting to hear about the injury first before they could attack the situation but let’s see."

Chelsea's Premier League rivals, Manchester City  are looking at many options in the market to replace Algeria star Riyad Mahrez who recently joined Al-Ahli, and have put Olise on their list of targets.

The English-French-Nigerian-Algerian young star participated in 40 games last season, scoring two goals and registering eleven assists.

Olise was a schoolboy at Chelsea before joining Reading, from where he moved to Crystal Palace in 2021.
