Confirmed: Prolific striker Odekunle extends contract with FC Midtjylland
Published: July 04, 2025
FC Midtjylland have announced that their goalscoring Nigerian striker Musiliu Odekunle has extended his contract with the Danish Superliga club.
He has signed a new five-year deal with The Wolves, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2030.
Odekunle was offered a new contract thanks to his impressive displays for the youth team of FC Midtjylland.
In eighteen appearances in the U19 Boys League, he tallied 14 goals over the course of the 2024-2025 season, and also found the net against Viborg FF in the Future Cup.
In addition to his eye for goal, Odekunle boasts an impressive physical presence, which made him a constant handful for defenders throughout the U19 League season.
Commenting on his new deal, he said: "I am very happy. It has been a big goal for a long time to sign a new contract with FC Midtjylland. I have been here for a year now and I have really learned a lot.
"My first touch has improved and I have worked hard to finish well and at the right times. Before, I just shot without thinking too much about it."
Odekunle concluded by saying he feels he has grown as a player but remains determined to keep improving, with his ultimate aim being to break into the club's first team.
A product of FC Ebedei, Midtjylland's strategic partner in Nigeria, the 19-year-old appeared in four matches in last season's UEFA Youth League.
