'Very solid player' – Former Man Utd chief scout confirms Everton are interested in Ndidi

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown has weighed in on the future of Wilfred Ndidi, hinting at a likely summer exit from Leicester City amid mounting interest from Premier League side Everton.

Ndidi, who signed a contract extension with the Foxes last summer, is reportedly on the radar of several clubs following Leicester City's relegation to the Championship.

Speaking to Football Insider, Brown confirmed Everton's strong interest in the Nigerian international.

Everton are considering signing Wilfred Ndidi," Brown said. "They've been keen on him for a while and he's a very solid player."

"Everton have had scouts watching his performances and he's been one of Leicester's better players."

The veteran scout also emphasized that Ndidi would be open to a move, especially as it presents an opportunity to return immediately to Premier League football.

"It's a move I expect he will be open to as well, the chance to get straight back into the Premier League after getting relegated with Leicester," he added.

Ndidi reportedly has a €9 million release clause in his contract, a figure that has caught the attention of several clubs across Europe.

In addition to Everton, Manchester United and Spanish side Real Betis are also said to be monitoring the situation.

"It might prove difficult to get over the line because there are a lot of clubs who have been made aware of that release clause he's got," Brown noted.

"But I expect them to make an attempt to bring him in ahead of these clubs. Either way, it looks like he's definitely leaving Leicester."

With the summer transfer window heating up, Ndidi is expected to prioritize a return to top-flight football as he looks to continue his career at the highest level.
