Napoli identify Arsenal star, ex-Chelsea striker, Lille ace as possible replacement for Osimhen
Published: October 07, 2023
Napoli could be preparing for life without star striker Victor Osimhen who is yet to sign a new contract with the club.
According to Calciomercato.com, Napoli have reportedly identified Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus, former Chelsea forward Álvaro Morata and Lille's Canada ace Jonathan David as one of the possible replacements for Osimhen.
Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022 and has been a regular in Mikel Arteta's starting XI, a move for the Brazilian forward could be costly for Napoli with his contract with the Gunners ending in 2027.
A move for David could be likelier than Jesus because he has two years left on his contract with Lille and was heavily linked with a move away from the French club in the summer transfer window.
With less than a year left on his contract, Napoli also stand a good chance of signing Morata if he doesn't sign a new deal with Atlético Madrid but it remains to be seen whether they would like to replace Osimhen with an aging striker.
Rudi Garcia's side are still hopeful of getting the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner to commit his long term future to the Parthenopeans but could be forced to sell him if he doesn't.
