Super Eagles striker Osimhen annoyed by recent remarks made by Napoli president
Published: October 20, 2023
Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, is reportedly furious with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis following comments made regarding the player's contract situation.
Osimhen, who joined the Italian side from Lille in 2020, is said to be displeased with the recent comments about his future.
De Laurentiis recently spoke to the media about Osimhen's contract discussions, revealing that the negotiations had been ongoing but had not yet reached a resolution.
The Napoli president confirmed the verbal agreement on a new deal in August but cast doubt over the future of the Nigerian striker.
These comments have evidently not sat well with the player.
In a recent report by Il Mattino via Get Football News Italy, Osimhen and his agent Roberto Calenda expressed dissatisfaction with De Laurentiis' statements, and 'they are deciding on a future away from Naples'.
The disagreement between the player and the club president threatens the relationship between both parties with a few months to the winter window.
Osimhen has been recently linked with a move to Chelsea, Arsenal and other top clubs in Europe and it remains to be seen whether a resolution can be reached and his future at Napoli can be secured.
