Published: October 29, 2023
Akor Adams bagged a brace in Montpellier's 3-0 win over Toulouse on matchday 10 of the Ligue 1 played at the Stade de la Mosson on Sunday afternoon.
The Nigerian striker opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a shot into the left bottom corner having received a precise pass from Teji Savanier.
Khalil Fayad doubled the advantage of the one-time French champions three minutes after the hour mark before Adams struck for the second time in the game to seal Montpellier's victory.
The former Flying Eagles forward goal came in the 73rd minute from a counter-attack which he initiated and made no mistake in burying the ball into the net when confronted by the goalkeeper
According to statisticians at Stats Foot, Adams is the first player to score seven goals after 10 matchdays in the Ligue 1 for Montpellier since 2011/2012 when former Arsenal and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud did the same for the club.
The former Lillestrøm forward had a dream start to life in the French top flight sitting second on the top scorers' chart, three goals behind PSG star Kylian Mbappe.
