Napoli provide injury update on Osimhen ahead of Serie A clash against Atalanta
Published: November 22, 2023
Through their official website, Napoli have provided an update on the injury status of Victor Osimhen.
The 24-year-old picked up a right hamstring injury while on international duty in October which has made him miss Napoli's last six games in all competitions including two in the Champions League.
In his absence, Napoli's chances of retaining the Scudetto have gotten slimmer and their qualification for the knockout phases of the UEFA Champions League is yet to be guaranteed, with the combination of both leading to the sack of Rudi Garcia.
Information from the Blues' website today revealed that Osimhen carried out part of the group work for players as they returned from international duty and also carried out an individual training in the gym.
He has been tipped to return to action this weekend when Napoli face Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium on matchday 13 of the Serie A, which is also set to be the first match of new manager Walter Mazzarri.
Prior to Osimhen's spell on the sidelines, he scored 6 goals in 10 games for Napoli.
