Shawn Adewoye: CB eligible for Nigeria, Belgium, Italy named in Eredivisie TOTW

Shawn Adewoye has been named in Whoscored's Eredivisie Team of the Week on the back of his outstanding performance for RKC Waalwijk in a 2-0 win over NEC Nijmegen in the latest round of matches in the Dutch top-flight.
The central defender shone as RKC Waalwijk posted a rare clean sheet in the matchday 21 clash at Mandemakers Stadion.
Born in Bree, a city in the municipality of Limburg, Adewoye is eligible to represent Nigeria through his father and can also wear the jerseys of Belgium his country of birth plus Italy through his mother.
The Eredivisie Team of the Week is dominated by RKC Waalwijk who have contributed four players including goalkeeper Etienne Vaessen, central defenders Dario Van den Buijs and Adewoye, and midfielder Aaron Meijers.
Feyenoord and FC Utrecht have two players each in the Best XI, while PSV Eindhoven, Heracles Almelo and SC Heerenveen have one player each.
Against NEC Nijmegen, Adewoye won a game-high four aerial duels, his seven clearances was the joint-best and he committed a game-high three fouls.
The Belgian-Italian-Nigerian defender, a product of the Racing Genk academy, has been on the books of RKC Waalwijk since January 2021, scoring one goal in 80 all-competition appearances.
