Luton Town central defender Gabriel Osho is racing against the clock to be fit for Nigeria's March internationals against West African rivals Ghana and Mali later this month.

The former Reading development squad skipper earned a maiden call-up for the upcoming friendlies against the Black Stars and Eagles.

Providing a squad update before his side's Premier League match against Bournemouth, Luton Town boss Rob Edwards confirmed at the pre-match press conference on Tuesday that Osho will not be available for selection against the Cherries.

The Reading-born player was forced off injured with around ten minutes left on the clock as Luton Town forced Crystal Palace to a 1-1 draw in a Premier League game last weekend.

The knee injury he suffered has kept him out of the Hatters' traveling squad for the trip to the South Coast.

In quotes relayed by Luton Town's official webpage, Rob Edwards said: "Teden should be ok but Gabe is unavailable, will have to see how it is going forward".

Osho has had recurrent knee injuries since the backend of last season and was not handed his Premier League debut until October 29, 2023 at Aston Villa due to fitness issues.

Osho's teammate Elijah Adebayo is still recovering from a hamstring injury and will not make his comeback against Bournemouth.
