Watch: Super Eagles-eligible winger special goal for Chelsea in 4-2 win against Leicester City
Published: March 18, 2024Super Eagles-eligible winger Noni Madueke produced a moment of magic to help Chelsea seal a 4-2 victory against Leicester City in the quarterfinal of the FA Cup played yesterday at the Stamford Bridge.
In the eighth minute of the stoppage time, the 22-year-old received a pass from Malo Gusto, initially lost his footing but regained the ball, skipped past his markers before curling the ball into the top corner with utmost perfection.
The goal sealed Chelsea's victory after Carney Chukwuemeka had helped restore the lead after they had surprisingly lost their two-goal cushion.
Madueke was brought on to replace the underwhelming Raheem Sterling, four minutes before the end of the normal regulation time to make his first appearance since February.
Prior his strike against the Foxes, he had never scored in the FA Cup and will be hoping to build on this momentum to finish the season strongly.
The England youth international has found game time to come by this term and has led to reports that he is considering leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the season on a loan deal.
With his striker yesterday, he has now scored five goals across all competitions.
