Raya, Ramsdale, Hein going on international duty: Arteta promotes Ejeheri to Arsenal first team training
Published: March 18, 2024
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta promoted 2023 Flying Eagles invitee Ovie Ejeheri to first team training on Monday, March 18, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Ejeheri was spotted training with Arsenal first teamers at Sobha Realty Training Centre as the Gunners started their preparations for a potential title decider against Manchester City at the end of March.
City coach Pep Guardiola has labeled the Manchester City versus Arsenal Premier League showdown at the Etihad Stadium on March 31 as a final.
The Nigerian goalkeeper was spotted wearing the number 48 jersey during the training session at London Colney.
It is believed that Ejeheri was invited to train with the first team to make up the numbers given that Arsenal have thirteen of their players going away on international duty this week.
Goalkeepers David Raya, Aaron Ramsdale and Karl Hein who are the top three in Mikel Arteta's pecking order of goalkeepers at the Emirates Stadium have been called up to the Spanish, English and Estonian national team respectively.
Ejeheri has yet to make his senior debut for the Gunners but experienced a taste of first team football during loan spells at Chelmsford and SJK Seinäjoki last season, keeping a total of 21 clean sheets for both teams.
This season, he has represented the Gunners in the Premier League 2 and Bristol Street Motors Trophy.
