Fulham ready to make Nigerian CB one of their top earners to fend off Liverpool, Tottenham interest
Published: March 21, 2024
According to The Standard, Fulham are ready to offer Anglo-Nigerian central defender Tosin Adarabioyo a huge deal to ward off transfer interest from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
It is no news that the right-footed defender is into the last days of his contract and is being linked with a host of clubs but Fulham are not ready to give up on their mission to retain his services.
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou admitted last week that they are in the market for a new central defender, with Tosin attracting interest from the north London club last summer.
Tosin has also been linked with a move to Anfield as a possible replacement for Cameroonian centre-back Joel Matip who is currently injured and becomes a free agent in the off season.
As stated in the report, the London-based club are ready to make the 26-year-old one of their top earners, reinforcing their commitment to tie him down to a long-term contract.
It has been said that talks have already begun between both parties regarding a new deal though the Manchester City Academy product is keen on his football presently.
The determination to keep the Super Eagles-eligible also stems from the fact that he has been one of the Cottagers' best players in this campaign m.
According to Whoscored, only João Palhinha and Anthonee Robinson are the two players with better ratings than him among players present at the club.
He moved to Craven Cottage in the summer of 2020 and has become a vital player in the defense, featuring in 127 games and has six goal involvements.
