How Noni Madueke reacted to Mauricio Pochettino's departure from Chelsea
Published: May 22, 2024
Super Eagles-eligible forward Noni Madueke has reacted to the news of Mauricio Pochettino leaving his position as Chelsea's head coach.
According to a statement on their official website published on Tuesday evening, the Premier League giants announced that they have decided to part ways with the Argentine tactician based on mutual agreement.
Pochettino became the Blues' coach last summer , replacing Graham Potter and was largely expected to help bring the best out of the club's assembly of youngsters and reposition them as one of the best sides in Europe.
The 52-year-old could only manage to help the West London club to a 6th place finish in the Premier League, the final of the Carabao Cup where they lost to an injury-ravaged Liverpool side and a semifinal finish in the FA Cup.
Due to the unsatisfactory results on the pitch and a reported disagreement between Pochettino and the Chelsea's hierarchy on the club's policy, both parties have decided to call it a day on their relationship.
Madueke is one of the players to have taken to social media to react to the departure of the four-time Premier League Manager of the Month.
He posted his picture and that of the Argentine on his Instagram account with the inscription: "Thank You"
The 22-year-old played 34 times across all competitions under the former PSG coach, scoring eight goals and providing three assists as well.
