Chelsea target Victor Osimhen rejects the idea of returning to Ligue 1 amid Paris Saint-Germain links
Published: May 23, 2024
According to Tutto Napoli citing the editorial staff of Radio Kiss Kiss, Chelsea target Victor Osimhen has rejected an approach from Paris Saint-Germain to sign him in the summer.
The Nigerian forward is said to have no intention of playing in the Ligue 1, having previously played for Lille and as a result is not fascinated by the idea of playing with the French giants.
The Parisians are bound to loose Kylian Mbappé' and are preparing for life without the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner by making an approach to sign the reigning African Footballer of the Year.
While activating his €130 release clause might not be a problem for the Paris-based club, convincing the 25-year-old to return to France looks to their biggest hurdle.
The Nigeria international is said to be eyeing a move to the Premier League with Chelsea and mentioned as a possible destination.
The biggest issue facing the Premier League giants is how to come up with a plan on how to pay the one-time Serie A striker of the Year's huge release clause which is around €130m.
It has been reported that Chelsea are considering to offer Napoli a player plus cash offer for Osimhen, apparently, in a bid to continue adhering to the Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Osimhen has scored 76 goals in 132 all-competition appearances for Napoli.
