The price of victory: Galatasaray target Osimhen prefers European stay, demands N27b-a-year
Published: July 04, 2025
Galatasaray target Victor Osimhen has made it clear he wants to remain in Europe, despite strong interest and lucrative offers from clubs outside the continent, particularly Saudi Arabia.
According to Italian outlet la Repubblica, the Napoli forward is reportedly demanding a salary of €15 million (approximately N27 billion in Nigerian currency) per season as he holds out for a move to a top European club, with the English Premier League his preferred destination.
Osimhen, who was named African Footballer of the Year in 2023, is expected to leave Napoli this summer.
Although under contract until June 2026, he is not part of Antonio Conte's plans for the 2025/2026 season.
However, Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal are keen to sign the Nigerian international and have made several attempts to lure him with an eye-watering €40 million-per-season offer.
Despite the lucrative offer, Osimhen has rejected all proposals from the club, opting instead to wait for an opportunity in Europe.
Osimhen remains Al Hilal’s top transfer target, with the club even willing to offload one of Marcos Leonardo or Aleksandar Mitrović to create space for the striker.
Despite the strong interest from the Saudi Arabian club, the 26-year-old is prioritizing a move within Europe, with speculations linking him to Liverpool and Galatasaray
Ahead of the upcoming campaign, Osimhen is will hope for a move to a club that aligns with his ambitions and salary demands, as he seeks a fresh challenge away from Naples.
