Confirmed: Barcelona youth product Godswill Ekpolo joins AEK Larnaca

AEK Larnaca FC have officially welcomed Barcelona youth product, Godswill Ekpolo to their ranks.
The Cypriot professional football club, based in Larnaca, announced the acquisition via a statement on their official website.
Ekpolo joins AEK Larnaca after an impressive stint with Apollon Limassol FC
. During his time with Limassol, Ekpolo showcased his prowess in 49 appearances, contributing both defensively and offensively with three goals and two assists.
The announcement of Ekpolo's signing was made on Friday by AEK Larnaca, who expressed their excitement about adding the experiences defender to their squad.
The club confirmed that Ekpolo has penned a two-year contract, with the option to extend for an additional year, solidifying his commitment to the team.
"Kition Athletic Association (AEK) Larnaca is pleased to announce the signing of Nigerian versatile defender Godswill Ekpolo for the next 2+1 years," read the statement on the club's website.
"The footballer successfully completed the necessary medical examinations and then signed the relevant contracts."
Born in Benin City, Nigeria, Ekpolo's football journey took him from his homeland to Spain at a young age.
Settling in Tarragona, he honed his skills within the esteemed youth setup of FC Barcelona.
Ekpolo progressed through the ranks, featuring prominently for the reserve team and even captaining the U19 side, before departing the club in June 2016.
Apart from the aforementioned clubs, the former Nigeria U23 international has worn the colours of Fleetwood Town, Mérida AD, BK Häcken and IFK Norrköping in the past.
