'Keep an eye' - Fabrizio Romano not ruling out Osimhen joining Man Utd or Arsenal if price tag is lowered
Published: June 27, 2024
Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has not ruled out Manchester United and Arsenal making a move for Super Eagles star forward Victor Osimhen this summer.
The Red Devils search for a striker is no news, having struggled to find the back of the net consistently last season, particularly in the Premier League.
They have been linked with Dutch-Nigerian Nigerian striker Joshua Zirkzee and Osimhen with some reports suggesting that they could be open to offering Mason Greenwood plus cash to Napoli for the latter.
Just like the 20-time English champions, Arsenal are also targeting a striker this summer with their primary target being Benjamin Sesko but the Slovenian forward has chosen to extend his stay with RB Leipzig.
Speaking on Manchester United and Arsenal's pursuit of a striker on Playback via GIVEMESPORT, Romano revealed that there is a possibility that the Premier league giants make a move for the reigning African Footballer of the Year.
"In this moment of the market, keep an eye also in England, because Osimhen could be a big possibility. If Napoli changes the price of Victor Osimhen, there could be a possibility for other clubs to enter. "
"For example, Manchester United are looking for a striker. We know about Joshua Zirkzee and this battle with Milan, but also Arsenal are looking for a striker. Will they go for a striker? Will they go for a winger? What they decide to do in terms of plan? Keep an eye on many clubs for Victor Osimhen."
Napoli's valuation of the Nigerian striker is €130m which is considered too hefty at the moment and the club will have to reduce it if he is to leave in the current transfer window.
The Italian giants' transfer plans lie hugely on the sale of the 25-year-old and they will have to act fast before interested clubs lay their hands on other targets.
