Tosin arrives for pre-season training at Chelsea a week early
Published: July 03, 2024
As reported by BBC, Anglo-Nigerian defender Tosin Adarabioyo alongside Ben Chilwell and Trevoh Chalobah have arrived a week early for Chelsea's pre-season.
The right-footed centre-back joined the Blues last month upon his refusal to extend his contract with Fulham and has signed a four-year deal with the West London side with the contract officially kick-starting on July 1.
Having not been involved in either the Copa America or the 2024 European Championship being staged in Germany, he was expected to be one of the first set of players to arrive for pre-season and has now done so.
He will be hoping to make a lasting impression on his new boss Enzo Maresca as he seeks to quickly establish himself in the Italian tactician starting lineup.
The 26-year-old has his work cut out to become one of the first names on the team's sheet which is due to the stiff competition for places at Chelsea and with the reported links to Riccardo Calafiori, the competition could become more intense.
The Blues will be having their pre-season in the United States with the club set to play a combined seven games for both the men's and women's teams within that period.
The men's team will kick start with a game against Wrexham on July 24 before squaring up against Celtic, Club America and Manchester City.
The will round up with a clash against defending UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid at Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina on August 6.
