After bagging assist against Rangers, Man Utd boss Ten Hag names Oyedele in squad for Tour 2024
Published: July 24, 2024
As published on the club's website, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has named English-born Nigerian player Maxi Oyedele in his 29-man traveling squad for Tour 2024.
The talented midfielder has been training with the first team since their resumption for pre-season and was with the squad during their trip to Norway and Scotland.
He participated in their 1-0 loss to Rosenborg in their first pre-season fixture and was also involved in their victory over Scottish giants Rangers last weekend.
Oyedele grabbed an assist in the triumph over the Light Blues and seems to have impressed Erik ten Hag who has now included him in his plan for the forthcoming games as he prepares his side for the new season.
Conversely, Nigeria-eligible fullback Habeeb Ogunneye has been left out despite also featuring against Rosenborg and Rangers respectively.
He has been closer to making his first team debut than Oyedele having been named in the matchday squad nine times last season by ten Hag.
The 29-man squad is a mix of young and experienced players which the club manager will be hoping to count upon in the upcoming fixtures in the US.
The Red Devils are set to face Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool and will also take on Spanish club Real Betis during their stay in the United States.
