Emile Smith Rowe has become the second most expensive Hale End Academy product sold by Arsenal, after Nigeria international Alex Iwobi, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The Gunners confirmed on Friday that the versatile midfielder has joined Fulham on a permanent deal, ending his fourteen-year association in the process.
Although Arsenal and Fulham have not disclosed the transfer fee per club policy, Italian transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano has informed that the Gunners will receive a guaranteed fee of £27m for shredding the agreement with Smith Rowe before its expiration.
Romano added that the transfer fee could rise to £34 million with performance-related add-ons included.
The most expensive Hale End product sold by Arsenal is Iwobi, who joined Everton in August 2019 for a guaranteed fee of £28m plus up to £7m in additional fees.bringing the total fees to £35 million.
Smith Rowe has inked a five-year contract with Fulham, with a club option for the 2029-2030 season.
Iwobi and Smith Rowe can both be deployed as playmakers and will fight for one of the spots in the middle of the pack at Fulham.
While the Nigerian totaled 149 appearances in all competitions and registered 39 goal involvements before departing the Emirates Stadium, the England international played in 115 games, scoring 18 goals and assisting 13 times.
