No going back: Anglo-Nigerian striker joins Tottenham Hotspur on six-year deal, subject to medical
Published: August 09, 2024
Dominic Solanke's five-year association with Bournemouth is about to come to an end, with reports confirming that the one-cap England international of Nigerian descent is joining Tottenham Hotspur, subject to a traditional medical.
According to transfer market expert David Ornstein, Tottenham Hotspur have reached a total agreement with Bournemouth to sign Solanke.
The agreed fee is for £65 million, the value of the striker's release clause, with Liverpool set to pocket 20 percent of the profit the Cherries are making from the sale of their number 9.
He joined Bournemouth in January 2019 for a guaranteed fee of £19million plus performance-related add-ons.
When the deal is completed, the dual-national center forward will become the most expensive player sold by Bournemouth, breaking the club record set by Nathan Aké who joined Manchester City in exchange for an initial fee of £40m in 2020.
Solanke will put pen to paper on at least a six-year contract with Tottenham if he passes his medical tests with flying colours.
The Super Eagles-eligible player will undergo a medical at The Lilywhites on Friday night and Saturday ahead of a potential unveiling.
Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign a successor toHarry Kane, a year after the England captain moved to Bayern Munich for a fee of 100 million euros.
Chelsea academy product Solanke has 77 goals and 31 assists in 216 all-competition appearances for Bournemouth.
