Chukwuemeka will only be allowed to leave Chelsea on loan with an obligation to buy
Published: August 20, 2024
According to The Athletic via Chelsea News, Chelsea have revealed their stance on the possibility of letting Anglo-Nigerian midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka leave on loan before the closure of the transfer window.
Chukwuemeka is not in the plans of current Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca and didn't make the matchday squad for the Premier League clash against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Maresca has stated the midfielder's chances of getting enough game time cannot be guaranteed if he remained at west London, opening the door for him to leave the club.
AC Milan have been credited with an interest in him with the Rossoneri considering a loan but were told that the Blues would only listen to permanent offers and it appears their interest has cooled.
Napoli are the latest club considering a loan deal for the Aston Villa academy product, hoping to negotiate a deal with Chelsea after the conclusion of the negotiation for Romelu Lukaku.
As stated by the Athletic, the two-time European champions are now ready to let Chukwuemeka leave on loan if an obligation to buy is attached to the deal.
Crystal Palace are reportedly leading the race for his signature with the club still looking to improve the strength of their squad after the departure of Michael Olise.
The Eagles are financially healthy to sign the England youth international permanently but his wages is said to be the obstacle at the moment.
