2023 Flying Eagles invitee released by Rangers after failed summer move to Nottingham Forest
Published: February 17, 2025
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that 2023 Flying Eagles invitee Thompson Ishaka has been released by Scottish Premiership powerhouse Rangers before the expiration of his contract.
The exciting forward joined Rangers in March 2023 - a deal that would have kept him at the Glasgow club until the end of the 2024-2025 season.
However, Rangers and Ishaka have decided to go their separate ways, meaning the player is now a free agent.
A product of Riverlane Football Academy Enugu, he has departed the Light Blues without making his first team debut.
During his two-year association with Rangers, he represented the B team in the Lowland League, Challenge Cup and Glasgow Cup.
Ishaka came close to joining Premier League side Nottingham Forest during the summer transfer window, only for the move to fall through at the last minute, even after traveling to England for negotiations.
He is best known for his time at Rangers for bagging a hat-trick against Dundee in a youth team game while on trial.
With uncertainty over his future, Ishaka's appearances for Rangers B team in the ongoing season were scarce.
