Arsenal secured a crucial 2-1 win over Fulham at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, in a Premier League clash that featured several key moments, including a standout assist from Nigeria Football Federation target Ethan Nwaneri.
Nwaneri, who has been gaining attention with his recent performances, provided a vital assist for Mikel Merino’s opening goal in the 37th minute.
The teenager showcased his composure and creativity as he set up Merino with a perfectly timed pass to give Arsenal the lead, highlighting his growing influence in the team.
Bukayo Saka made an immediate impact upon his return from injury, scoring a crucial goal in the 73rd minute.
The winger, who had been sidelined for several weeks, rose to meet a cross from Gabriel Martinelli and headed the ball past Fulham’s goalkeeper to double Arsenal's lead.
Saka’s return and subsequent goal were a significant boost for Mikel Arteta's side as they looked to secure a top-four finish.
Alex Iwobi was introduced in the second half for Fulham, providing a spark to their midfield.
The Nigerian international’s energy and creativity helped Fulham put pressure on Arsenal in the final stages, though they were unable to find an equalizer.
Meanwhile, Calvin Bassey, also of Fulham, remained an unused substitute for the match.
Despite not seeing action, Bassey’s presence on the bench remained important as Fulham sought to stabilize their defensive efforts during the game.
This 2-1 victory kept Arsenal’s top-four aspirations alive, while also underlining the contributions of young players like Nwaneri and the significance of Saka’s return from injury.
