Chelsea join Everton, Fulham, West Ham, Brentford in race to sign Dutch-Nigerian-Togolese forward
Published: May 02, 2025
Chelsea have joined a growing list of Premier League clubs interested in signing highly-rated forward Emanuel Emegha following his standout performances in France’s Ligue 1 this season.
Emegha, who holds eligibility to represent Nigeria, Togo, and the Netherlands, is reportedly on the radar of Everton, Fulham, West Ham United, and Brentford ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to TBR Football, the 22-year-old Strasbourg striker is open to a move to a bigger club to take the next step in his career.
Chelsea, who are also monitoring the situation of Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap following the club’s relegation, are considering a double swoop to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season.
Despite only joining Strasbourg last summer, Emegha’s breakout season has caught the attention of top European sides.
The French club are reportedly open to selling the player if a significant offer arrives, hoping to cash in and realize a healthy profit on their investment.
Emegha has scored 14 goals and provided three assists in 26 league appearances this season, making him one of the most exciting young forwards in Ligue 1.
His performances have also put him on the radar of Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, who is said to be considering him as an option ahead of resumption of Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
