George battles Enzo, Sancho, Jackson, Neto, 5 others for Chelsea's April Goal of the Month
Published: May 02, 2025
Nigeria-eligible winger Tyrique George has made a name for himself for scoring spectacular goals, and he's in the running yet again for Chelsea's Goal of the Month award.
The official website of Chelsea has selected ten outstanding strikes across the men's, women's, and Academy sides for April 2025, and George has been shortlisted following his first Premier League goal against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
The Anglo-Nigerian teenager showed composure beyond his years with a clinical finish against Fulham, sparking a spirited fightback for the Blues.
His nomination puts him in competition with several high-profile names, including Enzo Fernandez for his header against Tottenham and Nicolas Jackson for his match-winner against Everton.
Jadon Sancho, Pedro Neto, Aggie Beever-Jones, Sandy Baltimore, Wieke Kaptein, Donnell McNeilly, and Ronnie Stutter complete the ten-player shortlist spanning the men’s, women’s, and Academy teams.
George has scored eight goals across all competitions for Chelsea teams this season – three in the Premier League Cup, two in the Premier League International Cup and one each in the Premier League, Conference League and Premier League 2.
His April nomination for a top-level goal marks another step forward in his promising career.
An England U19 international, George started for Chelsea in their 4-1 hammering of Djurgarden in a Conference League semifinal clash on Thursday night.
