Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured a 2-1 win over Ghana in the 2025 Unity Cup at the Gtech Community Stadium, and several players stood out in a balanced team display. 

Here are the player ratings for the match:

The starters

Goalkeeper

Stanley Nwabali: Made a crucial late save to deny Abu Francis and commanded his area well. Could do little about Ghana’s goal and showed composure under pressure.7.5/10

Defenders

Ismaila Sodiq: Energetic on the right flank, linked up well going forward but picked up a yellow card. Defensively solid for most of the game. 7/10

Semi Ajayi: A calm presence at the back but looked fatigued in the second half before being subbed off in the 82nd minute.6/10

Igoh Ogbu : Physical and alert in the air, made key interceptions. Booked late in the first half but maintained focus.6.5/10

Bruno Onyemaechi: Offered width down the left and supported attacks well. His deliveries troubled the Ghanaian defence. 6/10

Midfielders and forwards 

Wilfred Ndidi : Commanded midfield with his positioning and tackles. Helped break up Ghanaian transitions effectively. 7.5/10

Papa Daniel Mustapha : Worked hard but struggled to influence play consistently. Replaced by Ahmed Musa in the 62nd minute.6/10

Frank Onyeka: Pressed aggressively and linked midfield to attack but faded before being subbed in the 82nd minute. 6.5/10

Samuel Chukwueze : Showed flashes of pace and trickery, including one key run that led to a half-chance. Replaced in the 62nd minute. 6/10

Sikiru Alimi: Ran tirelessly but lacked impact in the final third. Made way for Kelechi Iheanacho on 62 minutes.6/10

Cyriel Dessers : Man of the Match. Took his goal superbly and was a constant threat with his movement and link-up play. 8/10

The substitutes

Ahmed Musa: Added leadership and experience but had limited involvement.5/10

Moses Simon : Brought fresh energy and pace, looked lively down the left. 5/10

Kelechi Iheanacho: Scored a disallowed goal and showed good positioning. 6/10

Emmanuel Onyebuchi: Held his own in defence in the closing stages. 6/10

Collins Ugwueze : Came in late but helped solidify the midfield. 5.5/10
