The Super Eagles have kicked off preparations for their glamour friendly against 2018 World Cup hosts Russia, scheduled for Friday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Nineteen players participated in Tuesday evening's workout, including new invitee Olakunle Olusegun, who landed in Moscow today.
The Krasnodar forward was handed a first-ever call-up to the Super Eagles following the withdrawals of attackers Samuel Chukwueze, Kelechi Iheanacho, Nathan Tella and Sadiq Umar.
The Super Eagles trained at the Moskvich Stadium ahead of the historic friendly in Moscow at the Luzhniki Stadium.
Goalkeepers Maduka Okoye and Amas Obasogie were among the 19 players who took part in the Super Eagles’ first training session on Russian soil.
Also involved were midfielders Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, Christantus Uche, Papa Mustapha, and Isaac Saviour; and forwards Moses Simon, Victor Boniface, Tolu Arokodare, Sikiru Alimi, and new invitee Olusegun.
As of press time, Olympiakos defender Bruno Onyemaechi was still expected to arrive in the Russian capital to join his international teammates.
The Super Eagles head into their friendly against Russia in confident form, unbeaten in four straight matches since Eric Chelle took charge as head coach.
