Butler-Oyedeji: Forward who is set to leave Arsenal after 14 years wanted by Sturm Graz and FCK
Published: June 22, 2025
Austrian champions Sturm Graz have joined the growing list of European clubs vying for the signature of Arsenal forward Nathan Butler-Oyedeji ahead of the 2025/2026 campaign.
The 22-year-old forward, who is set to depart the Gunners after 14 years of service, attracted significant attention with his stellar performances in the Premier League 2.
Butler-Oyedeji netted nine goals and registered six assists in just 13 appearances for the Gunners’ youth side, a run that earned him a call-up to the first team by manager Mikel Arteta.
He went on to make two senior appearances during the campaign—debuting in the UEFA Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb and later featuring in a Premier League clash with Ipswich Town.
Despite his promising development, Arsenal opted not to renew his contract, a decision that has opened the door for interest from several clubs across Europe.
According to Football Insider, Austrian Bundesliga title-holders Sturm Graz have identified Butler-Oyedeji as a potential addition to bolster their attack as they prepare to defend their domestic crown and compete in European competitions next season.
Sturm Graz, known for their keen eye on emerging talent, see the Nigeria-eligible forward as a versatile and dynamic option who could add depth and creativity to their frontline.
However, the Austrian side are not alone in the chase. Danish giants FC Copenhagen are also reportedly interested in securing the services of Butler-Oyedeji, having monitored him closely following his release by the north London club.
As the summer transfer window gathers pace, Butler-Oyedeji’s next move is shaping up to be a pivotal step as he looks to launch his senior career in earnest.
