Announcement imminent: Nigerian striker joins Plymouth Argyle on 3-year deal, subject to medical
Published: June 26, 2025
Relegated Championship club Plymouth Argyle are on the brink of announcing the signing of Nigerian striker Owen Oseni.
Sky Sports first reported that the St Mirren forward has been booked for a medical on Thursday, June 26 ahead of his possible unveiling.
The Saints have agreed to terminate their contract with Oseni in exchange for £60,000 (approximately N127 million in Nigerian currency).
A product of Waterford, Oseni is set to depart St Mirren after less than six months, having joined the Scottish Premiership club in the January transfer window.
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been told that Plymouth Argyle have pulled off a major transfer coup by luring Oseni to Home Park, fending off competition from several EFL League One and League Two clubs.
The former Derby County youth teamer had multiple options on the table but has opted to continue his career at Home Park.
Oseni is expected to sign a three-year contract, which will keep him at Plymouth Argyle until the end of the 2027–2028 season, provided he passes his medical without issues.
In the second half of last season, the 22-year-old totaled eleven appearances for St Mirren without getting on the scoresheet.
In addition to the aforementioned clubs, Oseni has also turned out for Nuneaton Borough, Rushall Olympic and Gateshead in the past.
