Announcement imminent: Chelsea forward of Nigerian descent joins Arsenal, subject to medical
Published: July 13, 2025
Chelsea forward Noni Madueke is on the verge of completing a switch to Premier League rivals Arsenal ahead of the 2025/2026 campaign.
The cap-tied England international of Nigerian descent, who joined Chelsea from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in January 2023, has reportedly agreed personal terms with Arsenal on a five-year contract.
According to Sky Sports, Madueke is in London finalising the deal, with only a medical examination standing between him and a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Madueke’s addition is expected to bolster Arsenal's attacking options, primarily serving as a backup to Bukayo Saka on the right wing.
However, manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly a strong admirer of the youngster’s potential, particularly his versatility to operate effectively on both flanks.
Madueke enjoyed a decent campaign with Chelsea last season, scoring 11 goals and registering five assists in 46 appearances across all competitions.
His contributions played a key role in helping the Blues secure UEFA Champions League qualification and lift the UEFA Europa Conference League title.
With all parties understood to have reached a full agreement on personal and financial terms, Arsenal are believed to be preparing an official announcement in the coming days.
If completed, the move would mark another statement of intent from the North London club as they continue to build a competitive squad to compete for all trophies next campaign.
