Confirmed: New clubs for Super Eagles players Awaziem, Daniel and Olusegun

Three Nigeria internationals Olakunle Olusegun, Chidozie Awaziem and Papa Daniel completed transfers to new clubs on Wednesday, July 23, with all deals officially confirmed.

Olusegun will not play for FC Krasnodar in the new season, with the Russian champions announcing that the former Golden Eaglets forward has been loaned out to RPL rivals FC Pari Nizhniy Novgorod for the entirety of the 2025-2026 campaign.

The 23-year-old was as unused substitute in Krasnodar's first two competitive games of the new campaign, against CSKA Moscow and FC Pari Nizhniy Novgorod.

Olusegun was linked with the likes of Watford and Queens Park Rangers shortly after making his Super Eagles debut but a transfer did not materialize.

Chidozie Awaziem has joined French Ligue 1 side FC Nantes, marking his second stint at the club.

The central defender's contract with the Canaries keeps him at the club until June 30, 2028, having put pen to paper on a three-year deal.

Awaziem, who has not played for the Super Eagles since March 2024, scored one goal in 23 outings in his first spell at Nantes during the 2017-2018 season.

Finally, Slovenian PrvaLiga club NK Celje have announced the capture of promising midfielder Papa Daniel from Nigerian top-flight club Niger Tornadoes.

The 23-year-old has signed a contract with NK Celje until June 30, 2028.

Papa Daniel lists Fackson Nextpro Football Academy, Adanaspor and Sporting Supreme FC as his previous clubs.
